Met Office warning of heavy rain and strong winds

Worcester Editorial 23rd Nov, 2022 Updated: 23rd Nov, 2022   0

HEAVY rain, gusty winds and the risk of flooding is possible across Worcestershire after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning.

The county could see a brief spell of heavy rain and strong, gusty winds, perhaps causing some transport disruption and flooding, between 10am and 7pm tomorrow (Thursday)

Forecasters say 10 to 15 mm is likely to fall in a one to two hour period, with around 20 mm in a few places.

With saturated ground, this is likely to lead to a fair amount of surface water on roads and flooding in one or two places. Strong winds will be an additional hazard with gusts of 40-50 mph inland

It will come just 48 hours after heavy rain crossed the county during the morning rush hour this morning (Wednesday) leading to West Mercia Police warning drivers to take care on the county’s roads.
