Call for more people the access Minor Injury Units

IN a bid to ease the pressure on A&E departments, residents across Worcestershire are being urged to access their local Minor Injury Units (MIU) for non-emergency injuries.

MIUs offer advice and treatment for various injuries, including cuts, grazes, wounds, sprains, burns and minor eye injuries and can offer relief to A&E departments which should only be used in life-threatening and emergency situations.

The waiting times for MIUs are significantly lower than those in A&E, which also makes them ideal for quick minor injury treatment.

Residents have also been advised to contact NHS111 to first speak to a trained advisor who can assess their symptoms.

Local MIUs can be found in Bromsgrove, Malvern, Evesham, Kidderminster and Tenbury.
