MALVERN-based charity ARCOS is providing a vital service for wheelchair-users who need to be weighed.
ARCOS, based at Hatherton Lodge, Avenue Road, has a special roll-on roll-off weighing machine that can be used to weigh wheelchair users.
It also has a special hoist that can lift users safely out of their wheelchairs, allowing the chair to be weighed on its own, and the user’s correct weight calculated.
This week, wheelchair user Josh, from Droitwich, was able to use the equipment.
Josh’s carer, Melvin Hobbs, said: “It’s really great that ARCOS has this equipment, because very few other places do.
“Josh needed to be weighed for medical reasons, and so to be able to come here and have it done is very convenient.”
