BENSONS for Beds has moved into a new store in Worcester in the latest opening of one of its new concept stores designed to offer customers in the area the widest range possible.
The bed and mattress retailer moved in into Unit B2 on the Elgar Retail Park last month with more than 4,300 square feet of trading space on the ground floor and 2,100 square feet on the mezzanine. It will employ five colleagues.
Bensons did not have far to move as the new store replaces the existing store on the nearby Blackpole Retail Park which it had previously shared with Harveys until 2020 when it became a standalone company.
To mark the occasion, Bensons rolled out its iconic purple carpet to welcome visitors who were offered an additional 10 per cent off items bought over the opening weekend.
Bensons’ chief customer officer, Frankie Haynes, said: “Worcester is a great location for us and we’re looking forward to opening our new store where we can show the best of what Bensons for Beds has to offer to people in the town and the surrounding region.
“Customers really like our new concept stores where they can see our full ranges and get all the help they need to make the right choice of bed and mattress so they can get the best night’s sleep possible.”
The store is run by manager Richard Austin who has been with the company for nine years at the Worcester store. The refit is the latest investment by Bensons under its transformation plan and follows the opening of 20 stores since December.
