Chance to get your hands on free banners to mark Her Majesty the Queen's Platinum Jubilee

BANNERS have been created by local artists to display at Queen’s Platinum Jubilee events in Worcestershire.

Severn Arts, a charitable arts company, commissioned five visual artists or designers to each produce an original banner design marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee this year with sponsorship from Worcestershire County Council.

The striking, large-scale designs have been printed onto three metre by 1.25m eco-friendly framed outdoor banners and are now available for public display across the county for community Jubilee celebrations, street parties and events.

Cabinet member for Corporate Services and Communication, Coun Adam Kent said: “These designs are fantastic and really capture a unique element of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee from the perspective of the individual artist.

“I’d encourage people throwing a community Jubilee celebration this year to enquire about hiring one of the banners just to add that extra bit of colour to their events.”

Elaine Knight, art director from Severn Arts, said: “It’s great to be able to provide another opportunity for local artists to showcase their work.

“It’s really interesting to see the artists response to our brief as their designs are all so different and will provide wonderful backdrops for anyone putting on a Jubilee celebratory event.”

The banners are completely free to hire and on a first come, first served basis. Visit https://online.severnarts.org.uk/jubilee-banner-hire for an application form.
