THREE dogs seized after a two-year-old boy died following an attack in his Egdon home have been put to sleep, police have confirmed

West Mercia Police said the rottweilers had been put down three weeks after one of them attacked the toddler.

The animals had been housed securely as part of the investigation into the ‘truly tragic’ incident on March 28

The force were called by West Midlands Ambulance Service shortly before 11.20am after the two-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest.

“It was quickly established the child had suffered injuries as a result of being bitten by a dog at the address in Worcestershire,” Supt Rebecca Love said at the time.

“The child was transferred from Worcestershire Royal Hospital to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and despite medical treatment, he has died as a result of his injuries.

“This is a truly tragic incident and our thoughts are with the family at this very difficult time.” she added.

No arrests have made and the investigation is ongoing.
