How a 'bulge in the wall' has forced a London Road footpath to be closed for three months

Worcester Editorial 22nd Mar, 2022   0

PART of the pavement on London Road, alongside Fort Royal Park, has been temporarily closed so repairs can be carried out to a damaged wall.

The closure has been put in place opposite Green Hill, next to 55 London Road. Signs are in place asking pedestrians to cross to the other side of the road.

The closure has been put in place so that repairs can be made to the retaining wall of Fort Royal Park

The eight ft wall directly adjoins the park and has been slowly bulging out into the footpath over the last six months.

The cause of the structural damage to the wall is still being investigated.

Repairs are expected to take around three months, and the footpath closure will remain in place throughout that period.
