RAILWAY services are facing disruption in Worcester and Evesham after a person was hit by a train earlier this morning.

Great Western Railway has confirmed an incident took place between Reading and London Paddington.

The train operator said disruption is expected to last until at least 9.30am with services currently suspended between Reading and Slough.

All trains to Worcester are either severely delayed or cancelled as a result of the incident.

British Transport Police were called to Burnham Station in Buckinghamshire at 6.49am with reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended but sadly the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

BTP officers are currently working to identify the person and establish the circumstances behind their death.
