YOUNGSTERS and staff at a Worcester school are celebrating after it was named a Thrive Ambassador School for supporting the well-being of youngsters to prevent mental health issues.

Regency High School in Warndon, has 240 pupils aged from 11 to 19 years old. Many have additional needs, including learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder, social and emotional difficulties and speech and language difficulties.

It has been named as an Ambassador School with Excellence in the Environment after going through a rigorous assessment process by Thrive.

The award recognises extraordinary schools which are making a positive impact on their pupils and on the wider community by having a focus on emotional wellbeing and creating an environment in which children’s wellbeing thrives.

Kelly Gardener, Regency’s Wellbeing Team Leader, said: “We were really pleased to be named as an Ambassador School, it’s something all of the staff here have really got behind and driven forward.”
