A NEW Covid-19 hub has been launched to support Worcestershire residents aged under 30 throughout 2021.
‘Take Back Our Lives’, on Worcestershire County Council’s website, is packed with information for young adults and teenagers.
The website is updated regularly with the latest Covid-19 advice, support and guidance.
Inspirational videos and artwork are also being added to lift young people’s spirits.
Last week, a short film and a poem by local poet Ellie Dart launched the new campaign.
They focused on how young people have been affected by the pandemic, by losing jobs, having education disrupted and having their social lives put on hold.
The film version of the powerful and moving poem ‘Resilience’, has been watched by more than 500,000 on social media.
It was shared by Harry Holles, who won the first ever series of ‘Little Mix: The Search’.
Dr Kathryn Cobain, director of Public Health for Worcestershire, said: “We really wanted to shine a spotlight on how the pandemic has affected different groups of people across the county.
“The Take Back Our Lives campaign has really given an insight into the impact of the pandemic so far on younger people.”
County Councillor John Smith, cabinet member with responsibility for health and wellbeing, added: “It’s been wonderful to see this campaign generate such a response so far, and really highlight young people’s thoughts and feelings during the pandemic.
“Artwork gives the campaign a real identity, and the film is particularly powerful and really highlights the struggles that our young people have faced.”
