BHF bosses seek support as shops set to reopen

Worcester Editorial 20th Jul, 2020   0

VOLUNTEERS at British Heart Foundation’s shop in Worcester are counting down to its reopening after the Coronavirus pandemic.

Ahead of the shop opening its doors to customers once again on Monday (July 27), staff have urged local residents to support them in its recovery from the crisis.

The stores is among 750 BHF shops which have been closed since early March due to the pandemic. The charity estimates the crisis has been costing it around £10million a month, which it fears could impact its future funding for research in the region.

Donations of good quality items are being sought and every item sold will help raise vital funds for research into heart and circulatory diseases.

New measures have been introduced to keep staff, volunteers and customers safe including social distancing on the shop floor, protective equipment for staff and volunteers and the contact free collection and processing of donated items. All items donated will not be put out for sale for 72 hours in line with Government guidelines
