A HOMEOWNER has been left shaken after being talked into signing a blank piece of paper by a cold caller to a property on Windmill Close.
West Mercia Police have revealed the resident was approached yesterday (Wednesday) by a smarty dressed white woman, about five feet two ins tall who talked her way into the property.
While nothing was taken from the address and no personal information was handed over, the incident has caused the resident a great deal of stress.
Police have reminded residents to say no to cold callers and ‘if in doubt, keep them out’.
Some doorstep callers may target areas offering small household products for sale. These callers may claim to be ex-convicts attempting to mend their ways, however they are not part of any recognised rehabilitation scheme.
To sell on the doorstep legally a valid Pedlars Licence is required and not just a photo ID. There are currently no authorised schemes operating in the West Mercia area.
