His lips are sealed for good cause

Worcester Editorial 15th May, 2019   0

THE GENERAL manager of a landmark city centre pub will fall silent over the Bank Holiday Weekend to help raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Nigel Preston, the boss of the Ye Olde Talbot on Friar Street, will call time on talking for 24 hours over the weekend as part of a host of activities to raise cash for ‘Macmillan May’.

Among the delights on is a charity raffle where for £1 a ticket, city residents can try their luck in a bid to scoop prizes such as Nando’s chicken platters, O’Neills gift voucher, haircuts from Blushes & Blow your top, a pamper evening from Lush, chocolate from Mr Simms sweet shop and champagne from Brooke’s Catering.

Tasty treats will be on offer on Saturday (May 18) with a cake sale of items made or donated by staff while the curtain will come down on a month of fund-raising with an evening of music at the venue from 5pm to 9pm on Friday, May 31.
