Young bookworms are on the rise

Worcester Editorial 1st Feb, 2019   0

MORE young bookworms across Worcestershire started and successfully completed the Summer Reading Challenge compared with any other area of the West Midlands

In total, 2,959 participants in the county read all six books between June and September last year, new figures show.

It means 74.2 per cent of starters completed the challenge. The overall regional average was 62 per cent.

The challenge, run by the Worcestershire Libraries and Learning Service, was launched at National Trust Croome.

The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK’s biggest free reading for pleasure promotion for children and young people aged four to 12-years-old and takes place every year.
