Man arrested following Co-op robbery

A MAN has been arrested following a robbery in Worcester on December 23.

At around 7.40pm, a man is reported to have entered the Co-op food store on Ambleside Drive. He demanded a member of staff hand over money and cigarettes and is believed to have used an aerosol spray to assault them.

A quantity of cash and cigarettes were removed from the premises before he left.

A 38-year-old man from Worcester was arrested on suspicion of robbery on Monday (December 31) and remains in police custody at this time.




Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident.
