CRICKET chiefs at Worcestershire CCC have raised £3,438.55 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

The club held a Pink Day in October including a raffle, collection and silent auction for the pink shirts worn by the players to raise the grand total for the charity which is based at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Elaine Scrafton, charity administrator for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to Worcestershire County Cricket Club for turning the ground pink and everyone who attended and supported on the day including those who kindly donated raffle prizes.

“It was brilliant to see so many people wearing pink in support of Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven and a fantastic total was raised. Thank you!”

Matt Rawnsley, Worcestershire CCC chief executive, said: “This is such a worthy charity and one that WCCC is keen to support. We all know their ‘everybody knows somebody’ campaign and it’s so true. We are really happy to have been able to show this support.”
