THE BODY found in the River Severn close to Quay Street has been formally identified as Steven Downing who had been missing since Sunday.
West Mercia Police recovered his body yesterday (Wednesday) at about 3pm
Steven was last sighted on a CCTV camera exiting Worcester Shrub Hill station at around 8:15pm on Sunday (October 28).
Officers investigating would like to hear from anyone who may have seen Steven throughout the evening and in particular after he left Shrub Hill train station.
Det Sgt Ollie Moore said: “Sadly officers recovered the body of missing Steven Downing from the River Severn, in Worcester.
“We are trying to piece together Steven’s movements on Sunday evening and are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen or heard from him during the evening, in particular after he left Shrub Hill station at around 8.15pm.”
