Mystery of minibeasts on offer

Rob George 27th Jul, 2018   0

LOWER Smite Farm, between Droitwich and Worcester, will be giving young visitors the chance to uncover the mystery of minibeasts that reside in the area’s wildlife gardens.

Staff and volunteers from the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust will run an event to help people get up close and personal with a variety of creepy crawlies – from beetles and bugs to bees and butterflies.

Sadie Carr Simons, the charity’s engagement officer, said: “They all have fascinating stories and play different parts in the health of our gardens.

“We’ll also be dipping into our ponds on the farm to see what exciting beasties spend their lives underwater.

“We can’t think of a better reason to indulge in screen-free time and explore the natural world – we’re really looking forward to helping families get nose-to-nose with nature.”

Minibeast Mystery takes place between 10am and midday on Wednesday, August 1.

The session costs £3.50 per child and booking, which can be done by emailing [email protected] or by calling 01905 754919.

On August 22 the engagement team will be helping families discover ‘Whose Poo?’

Both events are aimed at children aged four to 11.
