A DRUGS gang has been jailed for a total of 20 years after pleading guilty to supplying crack cocaine and heroin on the streets of Worcester following an investigation under Operation Blade.
Daniel Delahaye, 29 of Witton Road, Birmingham, Sharon Wild, 54, previously of Cranham Drive, Ebony Wild, 26, previously of Cranham Drive, Worcester and Donna Derrick, 37 of no fixed abode appeared at Worcester Crown Court last Monday having pleaded guilty of conspiracy to supply the class A drugs.
Their arrests followed an operation in October last year in Cranham Drive following information from the community to the Warndon Safer Neighbourhood Team.
As a result, a quantity of class A drugs were seized from the property and Derrick was arrested after being found in the house during the search.
Following the warrant, officers returned to the address where they saw Delahaye walking towards it.
He ran from officers and following a chase he was detained and searched and found to have £1,320 on him before he attempted to throw away a mobile phone. He was arrested and charged with conspiracy to supply class A heroin, conspiracy to supply class A crack cocaine and possessing criminal property.
After an analysis of his phone, further evidence came to light to suggest both Sharon and Ebony Wild and Derrick were involved in drugs supply and all three were arrested and charged.
Delahaye was remanded in custody and the other three were bailed. Derrick failed to turn up to a pre-trial plea hearing and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
She was found at an address in Tipton and was remanded in custody for trial.
The trial began on February 12 at Hereford Crown Court but Sharon and Ebony Wild both failed to attend and an arrest warrant was issued by the judge within 24 hours for their court appearance.
Detectives found Ebony in Kent and Sharon in Worcester and both were taken to court. All four individuals later pleaded guilty to the offences.
Sharon Wild was jailed for four years, Ebony Wild for three years and Derrick for three years and six months. She was jailed for a further two and a half years after she pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine in relation to an incident last summer.
Delahaye was sentenced to seven years.
Investigating officer, Det Con Alex Pullen from Operation Blade’s CID team, said: “County-line drug dealers coming from big cities do so because they think Worcester will be easy pickings, but they couldn’t be more wrong. We have a dedicated team of determined detectives working full-time to investigate offences, and so far more than 50 people have been arrested under Operation Blade
