IT WAS time to rhyme at a care home in Worcester, when it opened its doors to local pupils to celebrate World Poetry Day.
Residents at Care UK’s Perry Manor on Charles Hasting Way spent the day reading, writing and sharing some of their favourite poems with pupils from the Craham Drive School in Worcester.
In preparation for the event, the children wrote poems about friendship, and read them aloud to the residents as part of the home’s World Poetry Day celebrations.
Home manager Katherine Matthews said: “Our World Poetry Day celebration is a great example of how activity based care at Perry Manor supports residents to continue enjoying their passions and hobbies. It is remarkable to see how reading poetry aloud can really bring people together and put a smile on the faces of everyone around.
