THE FINAL donation of a Worcester firm of solicitors’ art competition has been awarded to Worcester Snoezelen by Deputy Mayor Coun Jabba Riaz.

Harrison Clark Rickerbys’ art competition gave local artists of all ages the chance to express their passion for Worcester and 10 winners nominated their chosen charities for a £250 donation.

Eight prizes were given by the Harrison Clark Rickerbys Charitable Trust, one by an anonymous donor and one by Worcester City Council which also supported the event by allowing use of the Guildhall for the final exhibition

Three Fort Royal school pupils chose the charity to receive the donation of £250 which was their prize for winning the junior wildcard category.

Jane Roberts, Worcester Snoezelen chief officer, said: “I’m delighted that they chose us – donations like this mean that we can go on offering the kind of activities and experiences that make a real difference to our users’ lives.

Coun Riaz said: “I was very glad to be able to support the charity in this way – the City Council was happy to back the competition, and we wanted our donation to go to a Worcester-based cause.

“I enjoyed the chance to get to know some of the staff and those who they support – they all have a lot of fun, and Snoezelen obviously opens up new possibilities for many people.”
