Countdown to city's Victorian Fayre is on

Rob George 14th Nov, 2017   0

WORCESTER’S Victorian Christmas Fayre promises to be a truly spectacular event, with nearly 200 stalls filling the streets from Thursday, November 30 to Sunday, December 3.

Now in its 25th year, the Victorian Christmas Fayre is one of the most prestigious street fayres of it’s kind in the Midlands – contributing an estimated £7 million to the local economy each year.

There is a wonderful range of products to be discovered at this fantastic street market, including colourful crafts, festive gifts and speciality foods.

There will also be a fantastic programme of entertainment to celebrate the Fayre’s special anniversary this year.  Look out for Victorian characters in Gin Lane, lofty entertainers on stilts, brilliant musicians on our stages and buskers on every street corner.

Visitors can enjoy the unique atmosphere and sample traditional roast chestnuts and warming mulled wine as well as a ride on the carousel in Cornmarket.

“Worcester’s Victorian Fayre is a fantastic traditional event, which regularly attracts more than 100,000 people over the course of the four days from all over the country,” says Helen Mole, Economic Development Officer at Worcester City Council.

“Much of the produce sold on the stalls is made locally, and the additional footfall in the city centre benefits many high street shops and restaurants too.”
