Good citizen students raise £660 for animals

A GROUP of kind-hearted Worcester students have raised hundreds of pounds for charity as part of their National Citizens Service programme.

Fifteen teenagers from across the city raised a total of £667 for Worcester Blue Cross and Rabbit Rescue and Friends during two weeks of fundraising events.

The youngsters organised a number of events including two quiz nights at the Vine, a sponsored walk in the city centre and a cake sale.

At the end of the two weeks, the teenagers went to Pets at Home to buy all the equipment and food the two charities had asked for using the money they had raised.

The National Citizens Service allows young people to meet new friends and make a difference in the community through volunteering and social activities.
