YOUNGSTERS from a Worcester theatrical school were treated to a surprise when the Mayor of Worcester called in on one of their rehearsals.
Coun Steve Mackay and his wife Alison, the Mayoress of Worcester, recently watched members of the Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society Youth Section (WODYS) prepare for their summer show of Whistle Down the Wind.
The show will see 57 members, aged 8 to 18, perform at the Swan Theatre from Tuesday, August 1 to Thursday, August 5.
The Mayor praised the WODYS members for their hard work and encouraged them to use their talents as they go forward in life.
Coun Mackay said: “WODYS is 35-years-old this year and going from strength to strength. The talent amongst the children is fantastic and we’re very lucky to be going to see Whistle Down The Wind at the theatre.”
