AN ARRAY of costumes and props from some of the world’s most famous celebrities is on display in Worcester as part of a ‘star-studded’ exhibition.

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum launched its free summer-long ‘Celebrity’ exhibition on Saturday where visitors can marvel at Marilyn Monroe’s little black dress, Rihanna’s headband and the famous purple coat worn in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

Props from iconic movies including Titanic, The Flintstones and The Addams Family are also on display alongside signed items from the biggest names in music, including Chuck Berry, Oasis and Michael Jackson.

Fans of the golden days of Hollywood can also see Fred Astaire’s shoes and Doris Day’s rhinestone bracelet.

Philippa Tinsley, senior curator at Museums Worcestershire, said: “We’re simply star struck at the objects from famous names in Celebrity.

“We’re very used to having world class art at the gallery, but seeing iconic objects from the big and small screen is amazing. We’re sure visitors will love getting that little bit closer to their idols through these incredible costumes and props.”

The exhibition is open from 10.30am to 4.30pm from Monday to Saturday.
