A WORCESTER hairdresser has been honoured as a cut above the competition after winning the Midlands regional final of the Wella Male Grooming Awards.
It means that Steve Hurley, manager at Toni & Guy in the Kingfisher Shopping Centre, will now go forward to compete against the best in the country in the grand final in London later this year.
“I’m still bouncing off the walls with delight,” said Steve, whose salon has picked up a string of awards of late.
Up against more than 2,000 applicants and presenting in front of an audience, Steve’s take on urban street culture combined a classic look with a modern twist wowed the judges.
The event was the first time Wella has entered the male grooming arena and as part of his prize will come a day’s mentoring on the very latest in cut and look.
All eyes are now on the final on September 5 when Steve will be looking to recreate the same look – and walk off with the top trophy.
