Green Louis aims to beat congestion

Worcester Editorial 4th May, 2017   0

GREEN Party city councillor Louis Stephen has been revealed as the party’s parliamentary candidate for the upcoming General Election.

Coun Stephen will again contest the seat for the Green’s as he did back in 2015 when he finished in fourth place on 4.1 per cent of the vote.

At the City Council elections last May, Coun Stephen stormed to victory in the Battenhall ward, always believed to be a Conservative stronghold, and defeated David Tibbutt, a former Mayor of Worcester, in the process.

Mr Stephen said: “I’m standing to give everyone in Worcester a chance to vote Green, to vote for a fully funded publicly owned NHS, decent homes and a transport system that works for everyone.

“Worcester has a massive problem of congestion; it’s affecting our local businesses as well as being a public health disaster with thousands of people having to breathe polluted air that exceeds EU safety guidelines.”
