Star Wars exclusive to help charity

THE FORCE will be with shoppers at a Worcester charity shop in a bid to win an exclusive Star Wars autograph book.

Staff at the Sense charity shop on Mealcheapen Street are holding a Star Wars takeover to promote an incredible prize draw to win an exclusive autograph book, signed by the cast and crew of the iconic movie franchise.

The shop, which raises money to support people who are deafblind, have sensory impairments and complex needs, will be running Star Wars-themed activities for children and families until Easter Sunday (April 16), including sensory games, treasure hunts, creative writing sessions and a drawing competition.

Staff at the shop are promoting a prize draw to win autograph book donated by lifelong Star Wars fan, Neil Ellis.

The 43-year-old Lucasfilm employee has spent a year collecting the celebrity signatures of the likes of Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega.

A winner will be chosen on Star Wars Day – May 4 – with all proceeds going to the national disability charity, Sense.

The autograph book, which also includes the signatures of Mark Hamill, the late Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels and Kenny Baker from the original series, and new series’ directors Gareth Edwards and Rian Johnson, is displayed in a spectacular handmade ‘Millennium Falcon-themed’ bronze-cast.

It has already raised more than £9,000 for the charity.

Visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Autograph-Book to enter the prize draw and have a chance of winning the autograph book.

City residents are encouraged to make a minimum donation of £5 in-store, or online through Neil’s fund-raising page.
