A TRIO of Worcester Warriors rugby players visited a city school to share expert advise with its budding sports stars.
Dean Hammond, Perry Humphreys and Tom Heathcote recently spent the afternoon at Bishop Perowne CE College, where they talked tactics, training and sporting opportunities with the Merrimans Hill Road’s Year 7 rugby team.
The players also enjoyed lunch with the Year 11 rugby squad, who were crowned county champions in January.
Their visit was rounded off with a question and answer session, where the students quizzed them on the career opportunities the sport offers on and off the field.
Mark Pollard, headteacher at Bishop Perowne CE College, said: “It was great to welcome Perry, Dean and Tom into college for the afternoon.
“They were fantastic with all the students and gave our Year 7 and Year 11 rugby players some excellent tips and tricks to improve their performance on the pitch.
“The trio talked about their routes into the sport and discussed the many career opportunities rugby provides. Their visit was really motivational and all the students that got to meet them were absolutely thrilled.
