MEMBERS of the Worcester Divers club took their final plunge as they bid farewell to Sansome Walk swimming pool.
The group, which has been running for 44 years, recently celebrated the end of an era when they held their last club session at Sansome Walk, before moving to the new state-of-the-art pool at Perdiswell Leisure Centre.
During the four decades using the Sansome Walk pool, hundreds of residents across the county and beyond have had their first taste of scuba diving, with many going on to become professional divers.
The club, which is part of the British Sub Aqua Club, offers a comprehensive training programme for anyone interested in learning to dive and members regularly get the chance to dive around the UK.
Duncan Locke, chairman of Worcester Divers, said: “The Sansome Walk swimming pool has been a great facility for the club, especially the diving pit which was ideal for training.
“We’re looking forward to continuing our classes in the new pool at Perdiswell and giving people for the chance to learn to dive.”
