Offering a paw to pets in need

Lorna Morris 2nd Dec, 2016   0

A WORCESTER salon is appealing to residents to lend a ‘helping paw’ to any to animals in need this Christmas.

For the past ten years, Tony Hair, who runs Le Salon on Bath Road, has organised the Helping Paw Appeal where he collects food, beddings and toys for animals at Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter.

He also tries to help the shelter find homes for other dogs and cats.

During the appeal, all clients at the salon get a five per cent discount off the cost of their treatments when they bring along a donation for the shelter as a thank you.

Tony said: “For the past couple of years I have done it exclusively for the Worcestershire Animal Rescue Shelter in Newland, near Malvern, as I had a rescue dog myself that sadly passed away last year.

“Molly the dog lived with me for ten years and was a big hit with all my customers.

“I try to help the shelter where I can and particularly at this time of year by collecting food, bedding and toys for the animals, to show them people still care!

“We welcome all donations which will be taken to the shelter around Christmas and we thank you for your help.”

If anyone would like to drop any donations into Le Salon, this year WARS are particularly asking for pet food, chews, and toys to keep the animals entertained during the cold winter months.
