Masked men with baseball bats rob elderly pair

Worcester Editorial 10th Nov, 2016   0

FOUR masked-men armed with baseball bats robbed and threatened an elderly couple at their home on Stanley Street.

A man and a woman in their late 60s received minor injuries before the men left with items of jewellery.

The incident took place at about 5.45pm on Friday, November 4.

Detective Constable Edie Anderson of West Mercia Police said: “This is clearly a distressing ordeal for the victims and we have been providing extra patrols and reassurance to the local community who are understandably alarmed by the incident.

“We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and particularly want to speak to any witnesses who saw a dark coloured vehicle, potentially a 4×4, that may have been driving suspiciously in the Stanley Road/Wylds Lane area around the time.”

Anyone who has any information or saw suspicious activity in the area is urged to call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 626s of November 4.

Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website.
