Donation in Dan’s memory

Worcester Editorial 27th Oct, 2016   0

A DONATION of £3,000 has been made to St Richard’s Hospice in memory of a long-serving Worcester lawyer.

The donation was made by the widow and former colleagues of Harrison Clark Rickerbys lawyer Dan Cambridge.

Dan passed away in January, aged 36, after a long illness.

The money was raised through the Wildwood Drive hospice’s recent Paddle, Plod and Pedal Challenge, which saw The Blister Sisters, a team of nine from the city firm, take part in a 45-mile course to raise £2,000.

Another £1,000 was added to the donation by those who attended Dan’s funeral and will now go towards supporting hospice patients from across the county.

Dan had been with the firm since 2006 and had been a partner in the insolvency team since 2010.

The firm has also named one of its main conference rooms in his honour.

Dawn Oliver, a colleague and friend of Dan and his family, said: “I was very glad to be part of The Blister Sisters team to raise money for the hospice. They do excellent work, supporting both patients and their families through very tough times.

“Dan would have been delighted to know that other people would benefit in this way. He was always generous in spirit and keen to help others.

“His death was a terrible loss to Gwyn and their son Sam and to all who knew him.

“The donations and the naming of the room in Worcester are fitting commemorations of him.”
