A WORCESTER library is offering youngsters the chance to take part in a groundbreaking storytelling project with internationally-renowned artists.
Worcestershire Libraries, Learning and Arts will welcome Blast Theory and acclaimed author Tony White to St John’s Library on Saturday, October 29, as part of a 24-hour live project for children aged 16 to 21.
Called ‘A Place Free of Judgement’, the scheme, led by Blast Theory artist Ju Row Farr, aims to improve writing and filming skills through storytelling performances, which will be streamed live on the Internet and made into a short film and book.
Rona Whitfield, who is taking part in the project, said: “Stories about our lives are a great way to find out about other people and learn about the world.
“I’m super excited for it to really take shape and for all my friends and family to see what we manage to create in such a unique way.”
Coun Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for localism and communities, said: “A Place Free of Judgement is a wonderful opportunity for young people across the city to become more involved with the arts through internationally-renowned artists.
“The project offers a chance to get involved with a variety of different aspects of the arts, including writing, filming, planning and performing. I look forward to seeing the film and reading the book.”
The event will run from midday to midnight.
