City-wide appeal after hit-and-run leaves dog needing operation.

A DOG which was left with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Worcester has had to undergo an operation.

Joan Dovey was crossing Bilford Road with her dog Ellie around lunchtime on Monday, August 22, when a blue car hit Ellie before driving off.

West Mercia Police are wanting to identify the driver, who was reported as a woman with blonde tied up hair and are also interested in speaking to the kind-hearted man who helped Joan and Ellie after the incident.

Ellie is now recovering at home following the operation.
