Good samaritans sought after city assault

CARING good samaritans who helped a woman following an assault near St Johns Church are being sought by police.

The incident occurred at approximately 5.45pm on Friday (July 22) and saw man assault a woman near to the junction with Malvern Road

The man snatched her bag away from her, causing the strap to rip. He then pushed her against a fence and a struggle ensued, during which her dress ripped.

Officers in Worcester are keen to speak to motorists who stopped to help as the man stopped when a passerby intervened. The victim was then taken home by a member of the public.




The man, believed to be known to the victim, then arrived at the home address of the victim but left prior to police arriving at the address.

Investigating officer, PC Simon Johnson, said: “I understand that a number of motorists stopped to help the victim, thank you for your kind actions.


“If you were one of these people, or witnessed the incident please get in touch via 101. Any information that you can provide could be important to our investigation.”
