THOUSANDS of people across Worcestershire have had their say on the future of healthcare services in the county.
In total, nearly 4,500 people took part in the survey, answering questions to help local healthcare commissioners understand what residents thought about a number of proposals that could be considered in the future.
The survey was undertaken by the three Worcestershire CCGs (NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove, NHS South Worcestershire and NHS Wyre Forest) alongside Worcestershire County Council, in order to look at ways spending could be reviewed at the same time as making sure essential services are protected for the future.
Dr Carl Ellson, Chief Clinical Officer for NHS South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “We’re very pleased with the number of people that responded to the survey, this indicates how much people care for their local services and how willing they are to shape what we do in the future.”
The feedback will be considered by clinicians as the CCGs continue to look at how services are commissioned across the county.
Dr Richard Davies, Interim Chair and Clinical Lead for NHS Redditch and Bromsgrove CCG said: “Over the coming months our clinicians will be looking at the results and will decide whether to explore any of the areas in more detail. If this happens we will carry out more specific engagement exercises with the public before making any decisions.”
The results of the survey are now available to view on each of the CCG websites under the ‘Get Involved’ section.
