Warndon fete sees councillors cook up tasty treats

A TRIO of councillors donned their aprons for good causes at the fifth annual Warndon Villages Fete.

Former Worcester City Council Leader Coun Marc Bayliss, Deputy Mayor Coun Steve Mackay and Warndon Parish North Councillor Alan Feeney swapped committee meetings for flipping burgers as they ran the barbeque at the fete.

The annual event is organised by Lyppard Hub and is supported by Warndon Parish Council to bring together the community.

Coun Marc Bayliss said: “This is the fifth time I’ve helped with the event. It’s great to be able to support it and put something back into the local community.

“Every year this event reminds me of the huge range of activities available locally. It’s a great showcase for the voluntary and sporting organisations of Worcester.

“It also shows that with a relatively small amount of financial support from the Parish Council and the dedicated work of the Lyppard Hub team hundreds of local people can have a great day out.”
