A WORCESTER charity which develops services for the community is seeking volunteers to help provide more opportunities for residents.
Managing six community spaces across the city, Worcester Community Trust is an independent charity providing space and facilities for children, young people, elderly people and the wider community with organised activities, sporting activities, drop-in centres, lunch clubs and targeted activities to share and teach life skills.
Entirely funded from its facilities and donations, the charity relies heavily on the support of volunteers who provide time and share skills to keep the centres operational.
Worcester Community Trust’s chief executive, Helen Scarrett, said: “Each of our six community spaces is different, offering a range of opportunities for individuals or organisations to utilise the facilities at very reasonable rates.
“We are launching a recruitment scheme to encourage people in the community who have spare time, who are looking for the chance to be part of an enthusiastic group of volunteers, to come along and see the centres for themselves, talk to existing volunteers and we hope, sign up to be a volunteer for whatever timeframe they can commit to to help us help more people here in Worcester.”
