BUDDING historians from Nunnery Wood High School saw their lessons brought to life on a trip to Berlin.

More than 31 Year 9 and 10 students took in the sights of the German capital as part of a trip to help with their Key Stage Three and GCSE studies.

During their four day visit the packed schedule of sight seeing included a visit to the Sachenhaussen concentration camp, the Olympic Stadium, the Reichstag, the Berlin Wall, the Holocaust Memorial, the TV tower, the Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie and a river cruise.

Miss Speechley, Head of History, said, “It was a terrific trip. The students gained so much from it and will remember it for the rest of their lives.

“It reinforces their understanding of events that they have studied, but also help to encourage their independence and sense of adventure in addition to understanding of the world around them.”
