A CARING Worcester man will be hitting the streets of London this weekend to raise cash for a city charity.
Wayne Griffin is a relative new-comer to the world of running after first pulling on his running shoes in September 2014 from scratch and has slowly built up his distances.
The 47-year-old has moved up from local five km park run and now faces the 26.2miles London Marathon course this tomorrow (Sunday).
Wayne has entered several five km and 10 km races in the past 18 months and also took part in both the Birmingham, and Silverstone half marathons.
He will be tackling the marathon in aid of Macintyre, a Worcester based charity which works with children and adults with learning difficulties.
“Being chosen to represent Macintyre is a huge privilege, I’m looking forward to the challenge and I hope I can do them proud,” Wayne said.
