MORE than 40 students from a Worcester school completed the production of a popular musical with just 16 hours of rehearsal time.

Pupils from Bishop Perowne CE College successfully completed the musical challenge on Tuesday, March 22, when they performed Hairspray on in front of more than 100 people at the school.

The students found out they would be putting on the show at 8.30am on Monday, March 21 and rehearsed until 6pm, before doing the same on the Tuesday, but instead of going home at 6pm they performed the show to a packed audience.

Mia Howard, who played Tracy Turnblad in the show said: “It was really hard to learn, but we had fun and when we were taking our bows at the end there was lots of excitement from everyone.”

Mark Pollard, headteacher at the school said: Our school motto is ‘Endeavour Forever’, so we wanted to show what the students can accomplish when they challenge themselves and work together as a team.

“They should all be extremely proud of what they achieved.”
