A WORCESTER youth football team is holding a fund-raising event to help raise money for a new kit, balls and training equipment.

Coaches from St John’s Colts under 7s are hosting the event on Saturday, March 26 at The Coppertops pub on Oldbury Road, where there will be live music from local band Ivory Wave and a raffle.

Prizes will be donated by county businesses including Carpet Direct, Motor Link, Revolution Fitness, Elevation Hair and AKR Karting and Laser Combat.

The team, who play friendlies across the county, are enjoying a successful season with 13 wins from 19 games and have scored 117 goals.

They are one of Worcester’s most established junior and youth football clubs with FA qualified coaches.

Colts coach Matty Drew said: “Grassroots football here in Worcester needs as much support as possible so we’ve decided to hold the event to raise money to help buy new kits and training equipment for the lads.

“We hope as many people as possible can come along to raise money which will help the lads to develop their skills and more importantly their love for the game. It promises to be a great night.”

The event will start at 7pm and tickets cost £6 for adults and is free for children under 16.
