Police search for witnesses of Worcester canal assault

POLICE are searching for witnesses after a man in his fifties was assaulted by the canal in Tallow Hill, Worcester.

At around 9:40am on Saturday, February 20, at the rear of Padmore Street, the 57-year-old had been in a disagreement with another man who is believed to have assaulted him before running off in the direction of the Arboretum.

The victim fell into the canal and sustained injuries to his hand.

Officers investigating the assault are appealing to a man and woman couple who flagged down police and a man walking over the bridge, who they believe witnessed the incident to come forward.
