MY FIRST event after Parliament broke up was presenting certificates at the Sixth Form College. It was a joy to celebrate the achievements of so many bright young people in Worcester who worked hard to achieve their results and great to do so in the week we saw the lowest figure on record for youth unemployment.
I hope that in the year to come we can see it still lower and more jobs and apprenticeships for the city.
There is much to celebrate looking back on 2015 and I am hugely grateful for all those who have made it a successful year for Worcester.
At Christmas, as we take time with our families, I hope people will spare a thought for those who are alone and those still working to keep us safe, in the police, fire service, armed forces and at our hospital.
Also for the charities who do so much to look after people in Worcester and further afield. From visits to the hospital, the foodbank and local homelessness charities in the run up to Christmas, I am hugely grateful for all they do.
I wish everyone in Worcester a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
