YOUNGSTERS at a Worcester school had a surprise visit from Pudsey the Bear as part of the build up to Children in Need.

Staff and children from all years at Northwick Manor Primary School dressed as superheros on Monday, November 2, to raise much-needed funds for the children’s charity.

A cake sale was also held where the school managed to raise £161, before pupils gathered on the playground and erupted into excitement when Pudsey the Bear made an appearance.

After collecting donations and meeting all the youngsters, Pudsey had time to try out the delicious cakes the school had baked.

Meanwhile, The Hive is putting the final touches in place to host the BBC’s Midlands coverage of the popular appeal on Friday (November 13).

Several city fund-raisers have been invited to The Hive to present their donations and will be filmed along with an acapella group and a tap-dancing troupe, who will be performing throughout the evening.

A group of graphic design and multimedia students from the University of Worcester have also designed posters and bunting which will be on display during the filming.

Film production students have been invited to gain valuable work experience with the camera crews.

In order to host this event, The Hive will close at midday on Friday for the remainder of the day, but will re-open as normal at 8.30am on Saturday (November 14).
