Shock over Warndon murder

Worcester Editorial 14th Oct, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

NEIGHBOURS of a Polish man and woman whose bodies were discovered in their house in Warndon Village have expressed their shock at the deaths.

The bodies of 29-year-old Malgorzata Marczak and 21-year-old Daniel Fedec were discovered last Tuesday evening (October 6) at their home in Debdale Avenue.

Officers made the discovery after the families of Ms Marczak and Mr Fedec raised the alarm amid concerns they had not heard from the couple since last Sunday (October 4).

A post mortem has been carried out on Malgorzata but further tests are needed before a cause of death can be confirmed.

Her death is being treated as suspicious and is being investigated as murder.

Daniel’s post mortem showed a provisional medical cause of death as hanging and officers confirmed his death was being treated as non-suspicious.

Malgorzata and Daniel were both originally from Poland and a shocked neighbour told the Observer their death had come as a huge shock.

The neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “It was frightening to see so many police outside the house, no one had any idea what had happened.”

“I think many of us are still surprised, it’s not the sort of thing you would associate with the street or even the local area.

“My heart goes out to their families, I’m sure whatever we are feeling is nothing compared to how they are suffering right now,” she added.

Det Insp Helen Wain said: “Specially trained officers continue to support both families at this extremely difficult time. They have asked that their privacy be respected at this time.

“Our investigation is ongoing and we continue to appeal for anyone with information to contact us.

“A file is currently being prepared to be passed to the coroner.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 and quote incident 416s of 6th October 2015.
