KIND-hearted staff at Marks and Spencer in Worcester baked, cycled, waxed and shaved their way to raising thousands of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

As part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday (September 25) staff dug deep with a variety of events to raise an impressive £4,000.

Hair-raising experiences were on offer for some as store operations staff Josh Turner had his hair and beard shaved off and Sam Fitch had his legs waxed all in aid of the cause.

Staff also peddled their way to raising money by taking part in a static bike challenge, while some braved the 10km run in Cardiff.

Shoppers also turned out in droves to show their support by buying masses of cake and coffee with 5p from every cup and slice sold throughout the month going to Macmillan.

Store manager Richard Barber said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to all our customers for helping us to raise a fantastic amount for the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

“With it being the event’s 25th anniversary, this year had added significance, so we are delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount for what is an incredibly impressive and worthy charity.”
