A CITY barista has brewed up the perfect cuppa to scoop success in the regional round of a national competition.
Tatjana Degutiere has worked for Costa, on the High Street, for four years and wowed judges with her passion for coffee in the West heat of the Costa Barista of the Year Competition.
The 28-year-old, from Russia, demonstrated her skill with a variety of hand-crafted beverages and the invention of her own drink, the Smooth Russian Spice.
Inspired by her roots she created a short coffee drink with honeycomb to embrace the natural sweet flavour and aroma of her drink with an added hint of cayenne pepper.
“It feels absolutely incredible to have won my regional event – like you’ve found out that you have superpowers that you never knew of,” she said.
The Champion of Champions Final will be held at Tobacco Dock in London on January 20 with the winner scooping a ten day trip for two with spending money to a country of their choice with a connection to Costa.
