Young campaigners make their voices heard

Worcester Editorial 23rd Aug, 2015 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

TWO YOUNG campaigners from Worcestershire got the chance to ‘make their mark’ when they attended the UK’s largest youth consultation.

Joe and Glen, who are members of the Worcestershire’s Youth Cabinet, embarked on a trip to the UK Youth Parliament Annual Sitting 2015 earlier this month.

The weekend involved Members of Youth Parliament from around the UK coming together to propose motions which have now been placed on a consultation called ‘Make Your Mark’ to be voted on by anyone aged 18 and under.

The consultation outcomes will decide the Youth Parliament’s debates and issues for the coming year and the top ones will be debated within the House of Commons in November.

Joe, 16 from the Wyre Forest said: “It was a great weekend and we were very lucky to take part in an event which allowed us take to the top issues in the area and present them to the Government.”
